Darlene Dopkins

Darlene Dopkins, 75, of Janesville passed away at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Darlene was born in Lima Township, Grant County, WI on December 5, 1938, the daughter of Richard and Edith (Allen) Butson. She graduated from Platteville, WI High School in 1956 and later from Platteville State Teachers College. Darlene married Dale R. Dopkins on July 16,1966. She taught elementary school in Beloit and Janesville later working with her husband after they started the Janesville Office Supply. When Dale’s health failed, Darlene became a full time care giver for him until his death on March 12,1990. She had been a member of Cargill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two children, Heidi (Tom) Alderman and Kyle (Jenny) Dopkins both of Janesville, six grandchildren, Jay, Jill and Jessa Alderman, Amanda, Natasha and Brayden Dopkins, one sister, Lois (Don) Booth of Cuba City, WI and their four children  as well as the numerous members of the Dopkins family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Cargill United Methodist Church with Rev. Forrest R. Wells officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at Cargill United Methodist Church. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
